Miu Miu, you're killing me.

Miu Miu is killing me. No, i didn't just wake up to the whole Miu Miu trend. At first i didn't know if i liked this range. Maybe it was because i saw it everywhere. Seriously, everywhere i looked i saw a pair of Miu Miu pumps. They were on every blog i check out, every magazine and every single celebrity is sporting them, as well as people i have seen in everyday life. They have been causing a stir ever since the spring runway shows. So i figured i was going to have to conform to them eventually. So now here i am, telling you i think they are rad, not just because every second person does, but because i think they are amazing and look super cute on. I think Alexa Chung was my tipping point. I saw her in the pink swallow ones and i thought "Wow, my girl crush looks so cute". The cat ones are especially cute. Miu Miu make me want these babies, but they also make me want a little kitten, something i have been wanting for the last two years.

Kareena Zerefos

I know this isn't a fashion post, but Kareena Zerefos' work really inspires me.  I really like her old stuff as well as her most recents work from 2010. She works using a variety of mediums, including pencil, gouache and ink, and often combines traditional drawing with digital graphics. To see more visit her cute website: http://www.kareenazerefos.com Kareena also has an online store where you can purchase some of her lovely pieces. Below is a screen shot i have taken of her website, it is featuring her latest work "Waiting for superman".

 Too close to see.

Thursday: I popped into see my model manager and i was pleasantly surprised that everyone at my agency loved my new locks. I may or may not have done a little dance on the spot. It was the first time they had seen it since i dyed it!  Sometimes i catch myself reminiscing over my dark hair. I don't miss it at all though! Very excited for new shoots and what is yet to come. Darker hair made me look too harsh in photographs! So, blonde Ally is here to stay for a while...well until i get sick of it! Sorry about the self indulgent post! I just had to share it with you.

I thought I'd share my little friend with you. I made him and he is a fun piece to chuck on. I had today off work! I have been super pissed off all day, as our internet was down. I screamed several times, for some reason this didn't help the internet come back on! I guess if I'm trying to see the good in the situation i could say, It gave me a chance to work on a few things with out being distracted by fashion blogs...and basically anything fashion. Hope you all have a great weekend and have some fun things on your agenda! I can not wait for what i have planned!

And on that note, i am off.

Lipstick Love.

I was getting ready for work, and just thought I'd post on M.A.C make-up! I couldn't live with out it! I only use M.A.C now. Cheaper make-up makes my skin break out. I love the lipstick i have on in this photo! My boyfriend bought it for me for Christmas. It's called "Vegas Volt". I didn't apply a very large amount. I was going for a subtle look. But when you apply a lot, you definitely stand out! I think the right make-up brings a look together. It's not always about the clothing and accessories. I like to change my make up all the time. This is how i see it: You wouldn't wear the same shoes for ten years, so why stay with the same style of make up. I always try and stay up to date with make-up trends as much as i stay up to date with clothes, shoes and accessories. I never used to like lipstick i thought it was for older women. Now i wear a different shade almost everyday!

Rock it.

"NONE THE KINDER, NONE THE GREATER, NONE THE SWEETER, NONE THE BRAVER, NONE THE STRONGER, NONE THE WISER..."

NONE THE RICHER

On my birthday i went shopping in Brisbane and discovered the brand None The Richer. Another brand of apparel and accessories that rock. I absolutely love the style of their jewelery! Knuckle dusters, crosses, skulls that are so edgy without being ridiculously over priced like so many of them are! It's hard to find the exact skull ring or cross you have in mind. I always find a cool one but there's always a minor detail that i hate. It's either not the right colour, or it's the type of silver or gold that you wear once and  it turns your finger green. Ahhh, i hate when that happens. Cheap jewelery that make your hands look disgusting when you take it off, like you have some weird skin disease (I'm hoping it doesn't just happen to me)! So it's refreshing that None The Richer is amazingly cool. I love rings. More rings the better!

I am still yet to find my skull necklace. There's one in a boutique in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast. I can not remember the brand, but i do remember i loved it. I think it was around $300...I said to my sister the other day i need at least five jobs. Each job will pay for different obsessions i.e One for shoes, one for make-up, one for jewelery etc. Now that i think of it, i may need more than five! I have a few projects of my own i wish to start soon. When you can't find the jewelery you love, why not design some yourself? So keep posted. Also this week: We're working on my logo. I have a few ideas, so hopefully they come into play! I'm off to get ready for work! Happy Hump Day!

Russh Magazine (New Issue)
June 2010
"BUNNY AIN'T NO KIND OF RIDER"

Models: Tony Ward and Ieva Laguna
Photography Will Davidson
Fashion Editor Stevie Dance
Source: Russh

Ieva is so effortlessly beautiful. She has graced so many big covers and walked for designers such as: Burberry, Alberta Ferretti, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, and Valentino. Plus this girl has AMAZING style too.
Here's a look at an editorial from the new Russh, on sale from tomorrow girls and guys! I especially love the photo where the coloured dye or paint is splashed against her. I want a photo like that in my portfolio! It just looks amazing against her delicate frame. I wonder how many times they did this to get this photograph?
I was trying to find out more about Ieva, but one website stated that her date of birth was  06 June 2005 (and i think she is a little older than five) ...So i chose to just state her beauty and leave the other facts alone. I hate when websites do not offer the correct information, It makes it difficult for people who are interested in the back ground of models.

Fur.

Why am i showing you this? I Love this fur shawl, it's from one of my first ever photo shoots. It was real fur. I have never stumbled across one since. Ah, i look so different in this photo, dark hair and i was only 17 (now i'm 20). The shiny "wet look" tights were hand sewn and were a mission to put on and even harder to take off. In this photo the stylist was chasing me around with an umbrella as it was raining! I love how photos have so much meaning, rather than just a photograph. I chose to show you this photo as it is a look i find very awesome. The tights, the plain tee and the fur shawl. I would wear this now. I wouldn't have back then. Isn't it funny how your style matures as you find yourself immersed in fashion on a daily basis.

Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones

Fashion is a kind of communication. It's a language without words. A great hat speaks for itself
-Unknown

Three weekends ago, we took a trip to Brisbane to go shopping and to go and see what exhibitions were on at the gallery. It just so happened that the exhibition on was to do with hats. This is  relevant because A) i love hats and think they are a wonderful accessory for anyone, and B) i love fashion, but that is a given as i write a fashion blog.

Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones", is a collaboration between London's Victoria and Albert's Museum and one of the world’s foremost milliners, Stephen Jones. The Queensland Art Gallery presents more than 250 hats and iconic headpieces from the V&A’s extensive collection and Jones’ own archive. The exhibition includes historical items and iconic hats, such as a twelfth-century Egyptian fez, a wide-brimmed black silk tulle hat from Christian Dior’s first collection in 1948, Mary Quant’s c.1968 navy blue beret, and Stephen Jones’s 'Wash n' Go' hat, moulded from clear plastic to resemble a splash of water, from Spring Summer 1993. I thought it was AWESOME! There were so many hats that i wish i owned. They were masterpieces, beautifully hand crafted. So much energy and detailing has gone into the making of these hats.

One of my favourite hats was "Kiss of Death" (1994), by Jo Gordon. And a few others by Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, and John Galliano,

Go check it out! It's still on 'til 27 June 2010.

Show stopping! Can you imagine anyone wearing this?

I have Neuw jeans.

NEUW

Certain people collect records, watches and books. I collect jeans- Par Lundqvist

Neuw make the greatest fitting jeans. I bought my first pair in March (not long after their initial launch) and they are awesome.  They are perfection. And being a jean girl, i love a good fitting pair of skinny's.

Neuw denim jeans are made from ruined, altered and re-stitched denim jeans. Creator Par Lundqvist says that each pair of Neuw denim has individual details inspired by traditional, hand repair work and tailoring which i find very cool. I like that Par and his team have perfected the ever so popular jeans. Far too many designers do not take into account the female body. Certain styles of jeans just do not suit some figures. Neuw jeans are so unique, even down to the way they sit against your ankle. They have tapered the ankle to fit very snug (placing a dart at the back of the jean leg), which i think is ingenious. I find it hard to find jeans that do so. There are far too many styles that are more of a straight leg fit. The only other style of jeans which does so is Cheap Monday. Now, Neuw is in my regular rotation of jeans. Very, very comfortable and what i love more is that they are refreshingly priced ($150-$200). So go get your hands on some. I'm telling you, you'll regret not doing so!

My weekend has been perfect. Watched movies, drank vino, ate great food, spent it with my best friend. I finally finished watching through old epsiodes of The OC. Ahhh, sad times. My boyfriend and i just finished watching the original "Nightmare on Elm St". We plan on going to see the new one this week, even though I've heard nothing good about it! We are completionists when it comes to horror movies. I grew up on horror movies. I watched them with my dad cos mum was always too scared to. So someone had to keep him company! Another thing  I am going to do this week is write a list of jobs i want to accomplish. Number one on the list will be advancing my Photoshop skills.

I am off to enjoy the rest of my weekend!
