oh mumma I want to go surfin'

With yesterday's crap weather here on the so called "Gold Coast", I thought all of my weekend was going to be spent indoors. I can handle one day indoors but two consecutive days I tend to go a little crraaa-zzz-yyy. I love going to the beach and doing leisurely things on my days off and so does Jonathan so that works out well.

We left the house early to get to the beach for a surf. It was such a good work out. I am really looking forward to summer - let's just hope it's not a repeat of last summer, i.e raining all day everyday for three months. If it is nice weather this summer I could really get used to morning surfs, brunch and soaking up some sun to get rid of this white winter skin. Though I am not looking forward to sand ending up everywhere it's not wanted...

You might remember these Seafolly Swimmers from a post a couple of months ago - I am so glad I can wear them now. Thanks again Sunburn for sending me some love!

I am wearing Seafolly Beatnik bikini, House of Harlow Chelsea sunglasses and good ol' havaianas

Have a lazy, lazy Sunday afternoon guys! Ally XX

Inspired by Daydream Lily

My blog friend Liss Winnel from DAYDREAM LILY has just launched her second collection with Element Eden and I am absolutely in love with it. It is so dreamy. My singlet in this outfit post is part of the collection - featuring Liss' sister, Bec Winnel's artwork.(What a talented family!)

Liss styled the whole shoot and showcased a lot of her own magical trinkets and jewellery. It really gave it that "Liss" touch.

To see the photo shoot, visit Liss' blog, here

I am wearing: Element Eden inspired by Daydream Lily "hats off singlet", Customised shorts by me, Jeffrey Campbell Litas, Karen walker necklace, D.I.Y necklace, Ebay belt

Have a rad weekend

Balmain SS 2012

I have always loved Balmain for that rock and roll edge it had over a lot of other high end designers, but what Balmain presented in Paris for their SS 2012 collection was far from that.

The overall collection failed to show what Balmain is famous for - the rough edginess, typical of Christophe Decarnin.Olivier Rousteing seems to be taking it in a completely different direction - a direction I'm not sure I like.

Olivier Rousteing designs still have a little bit of an urban edge - they're just a little more chic or too refined for what I am used to in a Balmain design. Usually, I find myself lusting over basically everything on the catwalk, but this time there was just a small handful.

I hope you're liking my new blog layout! It still has some work! I am loving the new feel!

D.I.Y dress

My mum gave me this material whilst we were down the coast on our road trip a couple of weeks ago. She didn't have any use for it and she thought I would be able to think of something I wanted to make from it. She was right! When I first saw it - I thought "I want a cute summer shift dress".
This morning I took out my machine, scissors and material...I didn't make a pattern I just guestimated my size, cut a front and back, hemmed, joined the two and hoped it would fit. Who needs a pattern! Oh and I couldn't find pins either so what could have been a complete disaster turned out perfect.
I love it and it is perfect for summer!

Breo Watch

(Lee Jeans, Fallen Shoes, Tee from General Pants, ILparana watch by Breo, Hat from Myer, Skate board from CCS)

Jonathan has always wanted a watch he could skate in without worrying it was going to get ruined or scratched up when he bails . Breo definitely came to his rescue on that one. Most "sport" watches are super chunky and have sort of lost touch with any kind of fashion - but this ILparana watch by Breo, has it all. It has a rubber strap - making it light weight for skating in and the stylish face allows him to wear it places other than the skate park. So two thumbs up for your rad designs Breo and for making a watch that can withstand a good thrashing.

Photos by me- Thanks to Jonathan for being my model for this post.

Owl shorts

Tonight I pulled out the kitchen scissors (yes kitchen scissors 'cos I couldn't find my sewing ones) and snipped away at some rad cords Jonathan bought on our road trip down south in an op-shop. I decided I want to hop on board the boyfriend shorts bus this spring. I think I may have taken the term "boyfriend shorts" a little too literally. Lucky he didn't end up wanting them. I also had a spare owl iron on patch so i ironed him on and viola - I am all set now.

I should really post my D.I.Y's more often - but maybe with some quality photos.

Check out whokilledbambi for new stock which I uploaded yesterday and today.
