Heart

Because Christmas was so hectic and such a whirlwind trip - this weekend has just been all about hanging out and making sure we recharge our batteries so we can kick start this year in style. So with hanging out comes comfy clothes and I don't think you can get any more comfortable than this MINKPINK baseball tee and my customised DIY shorts. The necklace was a Christmas gift off my sister and her BF. I also am getting some Bec Winnel artwork but it was still in transit when they gave me this - so I can't wait to receive it soon (that's if my sister doesn't keep it for herself)

I got a new tattoo today. Nothing to big - but I love it. Excuse the pun.

Have an awesome weekend, Ally.

Diana+

Dear my lovely readers, Meet my new Camera. She's a pretty one, don't you agree?

This was one of the presents I received from Jonathan for Christmas. I absolutely adore it. It is so lightweight. I am loving re-learning film photography. I did photography in high school, it's amazing all the things I have forgotten.

He got me the kit - which is AMAZING. It seriously came with every accesory you could imagine. It is value for $$$ that's for sure.

{Kit includes}
• Diana Flash
• Hot shoe adaptors (one for camera, one for flash)
• Cable Release Collar and cable release
• Splitzer
• Diana 35mm Back + 4 masks for 4 formats
• Diana F+ 20mm Fisheye Lens
• Diana F+ 38mm Super-Wide Lens
• Diana F+ 55mm Wide-Angle Lens + Close-Up Lens
• Diana F+ 110mm Telephoto Lens
• Viewfinder Adaptor
• Universal Viewfinder
• Fisheye Viewfinder

My next purchase is the instant back piece. I have always wanted an instant camera so it's rad that it will be all in one. It takes Fujifilm Instax Mini film and can be used with all Diana+ accessories. Oh and another really cool thing is I can also get an adapter for my Canon EOS SLR. So I'm thinking of putting in an order to Lomography ASAP!

.......................................................

On a totally different note: I took a photo of my 6 year old niece with this camera - she asked to see the photo after I took it. It didn't occur to me until she asked this, that she isn't from a time of film cameras - she's so used to being able to seeing photos instantly. It's sad that a lot of children these days first camera is a digitial one. They don't get the excitement of taking their film into get developed and then not knowing what you're going to get back. I guess it's just one of those things that comes with being born into a techno surge.

2012 + Green drink

It's widely accepted that the food in western culture does not give our bodies the energy it needs. And mine is feeling especially sluggish after Christmas and holidays. You can never control what you eat when you're away and to be honest who wants to be when it's a time when you're meant to let your hair down and relax.

So like last year I am going to start the new year with cleansing my body. Today marks the beginning of my post Christmas detox. I am taking part in a Greens detox - It's 100% fresh and all you drink is alkaline-forming dense green vegetables. Natural fibers such as cucumber, celery and spinach increases energy levels and provides essential nutrients to help return the blood and tissues to a healthy pH balance.

With the risk of sounding like a person trying to sell you on a product (which I am not by the way), it truly is a great detox. You don't need to buy the fancy juice cleansing program (which I am skeptical about) that you've seen so often. You simply just need to either look at ingredients in your fridge or follow my instructions below! What is good about making your own, is knowing exactly what is in it...Plus it's so much cheaper!

{What you will need to make your green drink}:
Cucumber
Baby Spinach
Celery
Green Apples
Lime is optional
Water - this controls the thickness, so it's up to you how much you put in
Blender

Please note: The amount of these ingredients is up to you. I generally make a large amount and store it in the fridge.

{Instructions}:
Green drink should be consumed up to three times daily, mixed with up to three litres water, for five days. I find my problem with attempting to take part in a liquid detox is not being able to consume the amount of liquid I am meant to. I find a litre-sized water bottle can help with this, as it allows to you measure your intake more effectively. I also do this with water on a daily basis, as I often forget how much I have consumed if I don't have my trusty bottle.

I find you also have to push through even when your body starts craving the food it is missing - once you pass that stage of detox, you can really feel your body in full detox mode.

Have an awesome day!

SIXTIES

HAPPY 2012! My first post of the new year!! To start the year - I'd like to thank you all for following Unknown Pleasures. I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year.

These sixties shorts by One Teaspoon are beyond comfortable. They're the softest leather shorts I have seen in a long time. I have been looking for the perfect pair of leather shorts for about two summers - and now I have them! The colour is so versatile and the tie up front is a cute feature. I can tell these are going to get a lot of wear.

You can find them here.

My holidays are coming to an end - which means that i'll be back to regular blogging and Who Killed Bambi will be back to updating weekly!
