Dancing In The Dark In The Pale Moonlight

Over the next month, ten of Australia’s finest fashion bloggers will compete against ten of Britain’s best to see who can win the Next fashion blogger crown for their nation! So rad, right? We were given a Next SS12 item to style. I chose these beautiful floral capri pants (Ditzy Capri pants) as I am having a little bit of a capri pant moment.

Capri pants tend to get a bad wrap. But here I am trying to prove the critics wrong.  I chose to take on a Balmain and Balenciaga inspired look giving cropped pants a punk/ biker overtone by pairing them with boots. I was trying to introduce a modern twist on the popular 50's/60's ladylike trend.

I bought this white lace Peter Pan collared top the other week and I have been dying to wear it.  The lace detailing added the right amount of texture to my outfit. The weather hasn't been all that kind lately so I have been taking a jacket with me everywhere (yes mum, you'll be so proud). I bought this crisp white blazer on the weekend and I can already see it getting a work out this winter. It's a great structured piece which compliments my pants perfectly.

And that is how you wear capri pants.
