Sometimes it's the simple things

They're plain, yet I can't find the perfect motorcycle boot anywhere. They need to be the right amount of chunky, the right amount of roughness and I would preferably like a buckle or two...

It's a tough one!

better than heaven

So, I'm pretty damn stoked for several reasons, but this one has definitely got to be in the top 3. Seriously. I was about to buy the One Teaspoon hot pink bralet (you've probably all seen it in their new AW collection), but I was thinking maybe $40 for a little piece of lace was a little bit more than I wanted to spend. So I held off knowing I was going to find something cute, cheap and awesome- and that I did. I stumbled across this little Loveable number in David Jones yesterday for only $6. I LOVE IT. It's the exact colour I wanted, the fit is perfect and I love it even more because I saved $34. I can definitely say I am obsessed with fluro bralets at the moment. I think they're an awesome way to add a little bit of fun to my autumn wardrobe.

Hope your weekend was rad.

Dance little liar

Autumn is definitely here ( hell yeah)! It's chilly enough for me to wear a little jacket- and let me tell you I am ever so happy. I am so excited for winter clothing- I am so, so over my summer wardrobe. Autumn has bought me a great new range of colours so far. I am loving the burnt oranges, maroons and sandy camels. I am finding myself experimenting more with colours. I used to stick with colours that I knew were safe: think blacks, whites and neutrals. But I am having a lot of fun mixing things up. After all, how boring would I be if I never thought to leave the house in something new? I'm totally getting on board with autumn, lovers!

This weekend has been busy so far and tomorrow is going to be even more so. 6:30am call time for a fun little lookbook shoot. If you follow me on twitter you would have read that a little (or not so little) PYTHON snake may feature in the shoot. Let me tell you- I am absolutely petrified of snakes!!! Last time I saw one in the wild I think It took me a good day or so to get over the shock. So I will be sure to get some behind the scene shots of the snake and me If he decides to partake in the shoot. However, most of the photos will probably be of me crying.

It was mega hard to choose from today's photos! I loved so many of them. The bubbles made for some sick photos! I am a wicked bubble blower too. Basically a master now. We trekked out the back of the GC to take these and when I say trekked It took forever to find a clearing in the road to pull over, and then there was the rain. Never fear we got there eventually. Drives like that end up being awesome memories!

crystal ball

I saw this face photographed in a lot of street style snaps. I then found out she is in fact a model. So, here you are, meet pink haired Charlotte Free (IMG models). I can't help but love this new up and coming model. I think it's the daring pink hair that has got my attention (how could it not?). At just 18 years old Charlotte is already making quite the name for herself. She has strutted the runway for the likes of Charlotte Ronson, Richard Chai Love, and United Bamboo.

There has definitely been a rise in the shorter models in the past year. Charlotte is only 5"7'- but she's not going to let that affect her. "You cant let what other people think affect the way you think. I get denied every single day of work. Do I let it bother me? Fuck, no. If I did, I wouldn't be here today. So many people think: "Why the F*** is SHE a model?! She is small with pink hair. UGH" And it makes me laugh. You must get used to the rejection and criticism and embrace it! If you do that, there will be no fear whatsoever".

Charlotte's positive attitude towards the modeling industry is impeccable. More people should have this mindset in their every day lives. Too many people these days care about what other people think, so they never reach their goals. People just need to realise- not everyone is going to support you or think you're amazing. It's up to you to realise these things about yourself, that's what is going to get you places. You are the only person stopping yourself.

I am loving Charlotte's personal style of band tees, black, chunky statement jewelery and fur coats. This style teamed with her pink hair makes her look like the new bad-ass chick on the block. I love seeing models who know how to dress. It gives you an insight into their personality, instead of just seeing the "blank canvas" they're meant to be.

What are your thoughts? I think we're going to be seeing her in a lot of editorials and advertising campaigns in the coming months. Her trademark pink hair is going to make sure of that.

LOST CAUSE

With the crappy weather the Gold Coast had over the weekend, we found ourselves indoors watching movies most of Sunday. "1990 The Bronx Warriors" was one of the movies we watched. I loved the costumes/ styling so much I decided to take screen shots and show you all! The Skulls, leather jackets, Military jackets, aviators, chunky rings etc were to die for. It's my style to a tee!

I didn't really pay attention to the plot (so i can't really recommend you see it)- I was too busy thinking about the leather vests, leather jackets and drooling over the rings featured in the opening. A few D.I.Y projects have come to my mind after watching it. First stop Ebay for some more iron on patches. I just hope they make me look just as bad ass.

I love finding movies that inspire you.  I don't think enough credit is given to costume designers- they're the neglected heroes of the film making world in my opinion. So, kudos to Massimo Lentini for the wicked costume design even if i am recognising this 29 years after the film was produced.

As my mum always says "fashion always comes around full circle". And she's totally right. This movie is 29 years old this year and I am still in love with the clothing- as are a lot of guys and girls. Some fashion just refuses to die!

How sick are the skull bikes???

Happy Monday Lovers! This week is going to be a good week.
